The dog days of summer are upon us! The long lazy hot days of summer will soon be a thing of the past and fall is very close even though the temperature didn't get that memo yet! Christmas will be here before we know it and as artists, it's time to get busy! We have a new Student Art Show. The children chose between making a print or an etching of an adoptable animal at the Animal Habor. The reception will be Friday, September 13th 3:00 - 5:00. There will be a donation jar for Animal Habor. So gather up the kids and the change jar and come on the Gallery and help support these budding artist and Animal Habor. At 5:00-7:00 on that same day Friday, September 13th we will have the reception for a new members show. "Textures, Layers, and Beauty" by Artist Karen Smith Ingle, Emily May Ragland and Mary Beth Lockmiller. Please come and celebrate this collection of art by these three beautiful and talented artist. There will be light refreshments served. Everyone is welcome. There will be wine served so parents will need to use discretion. The show will be up for your viewing pleasure from September 12th -October 27th. Fall Heritage Festive is Sept 20th 21st 22nd. We have a great Mob Art Funraiser project planned in the Artisan Depot Shop. There will be a table set up in the front of the store, and you can come in cool off and help us decorate fabric to use for Fabric Post Cards that will be used as a fundraiser to support the Gallery and all of our community projects. We want to give a big shout out to Frances Perea and Diana Lamb. Frances will be at the table as your art director Saturday from 11-4, and Diana will be your art director on Sunday from 12-4. Go by take the kids by and let them stamp and draw on our Fabric Post Cards. They will be placed in the Gallery, after they are decorated, for sale as a fundraiser . We thank you ahead of time for supporting our efforts. While you're there, check out the other shows that are up, there may be a treasure that would be perfect in your home or piece of jewelry that may be stunning around your neck! Our first workshop of the fall September 27th 7:00-9:00 is Acrylic Pour Paintings Workshop by our very own Denise Miller. You will make 2-3 abstract techniques canvases. We have the tickets ordered, and they should be here soon and will be available as Christmas gifts. There will also be a discount for early ticket buyers! On Wed September 18th after Art Wednesday we will have Change Out day at 1:00 and a workshop that will help train you how to talk with our friends, neighbors, and customers about Arts & Ales and our scholarship fund. Pat Richards has developed two brochures for this purpose, and we will go over both of them at that time. If your coming to Art Wednesday 10:00-1:00 bring a sack lunch.
