Student Gallery Opening Reception 3:00 - 5:00pmNearly 300 artworks by Franklin County students were submitted for the Spring Winchester Wriggle. Margie Gallagher, our Gallery Coordinator, and Anna Kathryn Anderson, one of our longest-standing members, helped the Wriggle committee determine the best pieces in several categories. All of the student work was on display in the Courthouse in Winchester for the Wriggle, and then the winners and honorable mentions are to be the inaugural display in the Artisan Depot in our newly Student Gallery. Please come out on May 11 and show your support for our Franklin County students. Everyone is invited. Reception Honoring Members 5:00 to 7:00pmFollowing the student-focused reception, there will be an adult celebration where we will be honoring former and current members of the Franklin Co Arts Guild. Activities include:
All current and former members of the Guild are encouraged to attend this reception and to invite friends and community members. While enjoying refreshments, attendees are encouraged to peruse the other two shows currently on display in the gallery. Member Joy Sneed's show, "Angels and Animals," is a playful approach to both subjects. Joy is the owner and operator of The Knowledge Nook in Winchester. Also on display is a Community Show, “Magical Thinking,” a diverse collection of pieces in a variety of media. Hand-made gift items for graduates and moms round out the offerings. The Artisan Depot is the gallery of the Franklin County Arts Guild and is located at 204 Cumberland Street East in Cowan, Tennessee. It is open each week from noon to 5:00 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays.
